Migraine headaches are reoccurring headaches characterized by unilateral or bilateral throbbing pain. Typically, the headache affects one half of the head, is pulsating in nature, and lasts from 2 to 72 hours. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and/or sensitivity to light, sound, and/or smell. The cause is unknown.
Treatments for migraines can include BOTOX® injections and occipital nerve blocks.
