Sciatica
Sciatica is characterized by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve. Pain follows the course of the sciatic nerve.
Common causes of sciatica include the following:
- Spinal disc herniation
- Degenerative disc disease
- Lumbar spinal stenosis
- Spondylolisthesis
- Piriformis syndrome
Treatments for sciatica can include epidural steroid injections, piriformis block, transforaminal steroid injections and spinal cord stimulation.
